One More Broken Heart

This song is about my youngest daughter who is boisterous, funny, full of fire but has a sweet heart.  She constantly gets in trouble from her mouth that has very little filtering.  Her sister has deemed her unwelcome in her home and has made holidays and birthdays extremely  awkward, forcing my wife and I to have separate dates for family and holiday gatherings.  It’s no wonder she feels left out, unwanted and unloved by her own family.  I have stated that I’m not going to abandon her regardless if she blew her stack or can be contentious.  Due to this, I’m on the outs as well and have been accused of hurting her by helping her.  Because that’s abusive.  Regardless, it’s a freaking mess.  What makes it even more egregious is that my oldest daughter is married to a guy who was a worship leader in a church and recently finished his degree in pastoral theology or something like that….a degree that allows you to become a pastor.  So I look at this as, just what the world doesn’t need….another guy who claims to be a shepherd of people for God, but stands with his wife in contempt of her sister and shuns her and has proven she isn’t welcome.  Yep, just what we surely don’t need….one more fraud.

Regardless, I’ve made it perfectly clear in the song and in life that I will never abandon any of my children.  If they need me, I will always help if I can.  This song relates so many times how I’ve held her in my arms as she cries because regardless of what they say, their actions prove she isn’t loved or wanted by them.  Needless to say, it breaks my heart and leaves me feeling helpless because I can’t take away her pain or heal one more broken heart.  I know what she feels and how painful the hurt is.  I lived it.+
