A Lover’s Regret

This song is about a girl I knew in high school who I had a crush on for a short time but like in the song I never acted on it.  Unlike the song though, I was already dating someone I was in love with.  Regardless, I’m sure there a many people who have someone in their past that they were attracted to but never acted on it for one reason or another.  Plus, others who seldom, if ever, dated because they were mistreated or unloved by their parents and left with hurts and scars.  Words can and do injure people deeply and in many ways are more deadly than other weapons.  Some kids grow up feeling unworthy and unable to love themselves or anyone else.  Its an isolated and lonely existence.
