Say Goodnight My Love

This is a song about a person who was in love and now finds themselves alone. Why is he alone?  The reason is unknown but he is hopeful of reuniting with his lover once again, whether in death or in the future.  The main character speaks of lying alone at night being unable to accept his lover is gone.  He speaks how his arms refuse to believe she is gone and how he has little to talk about since she is no longer there to talk to.  He expresses clearly how long relationships that suddenly end leave you regretful, lonely and sad.  So he continues to soothe his broken heart by refusing to let go.  So he continues to say goodnight to her even though she isn’t there with the intent on being with her and holding her tight at least in his dreams.
