Fading Away
This song is about someone who deals with depression. The person in the song could be a man or a woman who feel invisible. They feel unappreciated and distant from their boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse. The person states that sometimes they can hear their lovers voice because they know hearing someone is often a choice of listening to them, willing to actually hear with understanding what the other is saying. But the person’s depression is more revealed in their admitting that sometimes they fall into darkness and hide in the light; meaning the light could be church. A place where the atmosphere may be pleasant but their depression keeps them unable to be free and enjoy happiness. Their outward expression at church can be masked with smiles and friendliness but its just a mask…the truth and despair is hidden in the light.
I liked the song. You seem to write in a 70’s ballad style. Nice to hear new songs that aren’t just a bunch of stupid drum beats with raunchy lyrics. Keep it up. I’m also a vet.
I like the positive and upbeat mood. Cool melody, nice movement and song structure.
