The Midnight Man
This is a song of a gambler during the time of cowboys, outlaws and a rugged frontier. He rides from town to town with the realization that sooner or later he’ll meet up with someone who wants to risk it all and take the chance of drawing against him to accentuate their desire for fame as being the one man who drew and shot the Midnight Man. He is well respected as an honest and humble gunman and all the young boys idolize him. In the towns, the young women dream of a life with him. One woman tries her best to convince him he could give up his guns and be free of the moniker of the Midnight Man but he knows its not that simple and so she laments his leaving her again but still hopes and waits for his return.
