This song is about a fictitious character named Bobby Joe who unfortunately grew up in a hostile environment with little love or compassion which created a violent temper and being angry at the world.  Fortunately she finds redemption in music.  She uses her music to vent and to heal by playing her music with all the emotional angst she has buried in her soul.  It brings her relief and healing, which causes her to be single minded in her pursuit to make a name for herself in music.  It gives her hope and happiness.  For her Rock ‘n Roll is a lifeline.  Through her music she finds acceptance, emotional healing and admiration.  Billy Joe finds herself.
