We Were Young Livin’ On Fun

This is a song about a man reminiscing about a time when he was 17 and he and some friends were partying at a river one night.  He also remembers hoping his girlfriend, Katy, would be there.  He talks of the antics they had and how Katy was his everything.  He was deeply in love and states that they “were young livin’ on fun”.   

I can remember nights like the one in the song, where we would hang out for hours, laughing, smoking and drinking as I played my guitar and sang and the world and its problems didn’t exist.  We, like in the song, were just young having a good time.  It was and is a pleasant memory.
