When The Rain Falls is a song about taking your girlfriend/wife for granted and thinking that someone you love will always be there. The man in the song didn’t think to let his lover/spouse know how much he loved her or that he cared. One day he gets hit with the reality that she no longer wants or can go on being neglected regardless if it was intentional or not. Too often we bury ourselves in work or hobbies and never stop to take account of the amount of time we ignore or remove ourselves from the person we supposedly care about. The song exemplifies the old cliché of “shoulda-coulda-woulda”; ……..realizing his mistake too late.
