Another Vet Says Goodbye
This song is dedicated to the military veterans who returned home carrying wounds that couldn’t be seen, and to the families who have stood beside them through battles that continued long after the war was over.
It tells the story of a veteran living with severe PTSD. Haunted by what he witnessed and what he was forced to do, he struggles to reconnect with civilian life. Burdened by guilt and memories he cannot escape, he eventually reaches a place where he believes death is the only way to silence the pain.
Sadly, this story reflects a reality faced by far too many veterans across every branch of service. While most people recognize the physical sacrifices of war, the invisible wounds are often just as devastating. Every veteran lost to suicide is another reminder that the cost of war does not end when the fighting stops.
My hope is that this song honors those who never found peace after returning home, acknowledges the families who continue to carry that loss, and encourages greater understanding of the unseen battles so many veterans fight every day.
Wow that was a beautiful song and the music was awesome. It hit home; very heartbreaking but true. You are an excellent entertainer. Why haven’t we heard you before. Id like to play it for my 99 year old client. He started in ww2 and every war after that. He has a purple heart and a silver star. He is a retired officer. He went to Africa at age of 85 by himself to go hunting. I wish you could meet this man. Hank Warren is is name.
